Dr. Gordon Guay

Chief Science Officer, Kane Biotech

Dr Guay received his Doctorate in Molecular Genetics from the University of Illinois at Chicago where he studied how bacteria confer resistance to sulfonamide antimicrobials. Dr. Guay did a Post-Doctoral Fellowship at Lerderle Laboratories where he conducted research to define the substrate specificity of tetracycline-based efflux pumps and how they confer resistance to tetracycline-based antibiotics. Dr Guay went on to be the Director of Research at Catalytic Antibodies Inc, a company trying to produce antibodies containing a proteolytic activity to be used as a new type of therapeutic. Dr Guay then worked for P&G for over 25 years as a Research Fellow making him one of the top/lead scientists at P&G.

As a Research Fellow, Dr Guay was the lead scientist in a number or P&G businesses and has developed a number of products for CoverGirl and MaxFactor, Olay and SKII, Gillette and Venus, Right Guard and Soft and Dri, Oral B and Duracell. Dr Guay is the holder of hundreds of world-wide patents. Dr. Guay has received over 11 international awards for products he invented.

Dr Guay is married to Christine, had two sons (Dan and Gordy) and a daughter (Katie). As the Chief Scientific Officer at Kane Biotech, Dr Guay serves to help guide the Animal Health research and development as well as new product development for our Bluestem and Silkstem product lines. In addition, Kane is also developing new technologies to impact biofilms associated with chronic wounds infections in humans. Dr Guay is also the head of Kane’s Scientific Advisory Board.
