Inspecting a pet’s mouth is the only way to assess its oral health.
Only licensed veterinarians have the skill to accurately evaluate a pet’s oral health. We are not going to teach you how to make a diagnosis, but to show you how to assess a pet’s oral health as early as possible so a pet parent can consult a veterinarian as soon as needed.
In a normal pet’s mouth, teeth are clean and white, gums attach smoothly to the tooth, and there is no redness or sign of inflammation.
There is also no sign of plaque or tartar buildup on the teeth. The other indicator to pay attention to is BAD Breath. Bad breath is one of the early signs of periodontal disease noted by pet parents and it gets worse as the disease progresses.
